Experimental Group for Curatorship
2018
Porto - Portugal |
Curatorship is a vast and interdisciplinary field, mixing theoretical and practical aspects. Curators have to work with many agents in an exhibition project - artists, institutions, technicians and the audience - and hold the responsibility of the conceptualization of the project, which requires a multidisciplinary and extensive study approach. Nowadays, there are many options to deepen into curatorial studies - from free courses to graduate and postgraduate courses, masters and doctorship degrees.
With an informal and processual approach, the Experimental Group for Curatorship intends to be a place to share experiences and expand curatorial practices, headed to students, professionals and others with an interest in the field that want to develop their own curatorial projects. website |

Symposium Venice Biennale: The Portuguese Exhibitions [2004-16]
|
The Symposium Venice Biennale: The Portuguese Exhibitions [2004-16] gathered, for the first time, the curators responsible for the Portuguese representations in the most relevant international event dedicated to architectural culture. The goal was to further the debate about architectural curatorship and the role of these exhibitions in the dynamics of national cultural representation. The symposium had three debate sessions with the following themes: i) Exhibitions without a pavilion: Curatorial alternatives; ii) Exhibit in Venice Biennial: between national representation and international architectural discourse; iii) Open discussion with the Director of the National Arts Sector. The curators that participated in the event were: Delfim Sardo, Joaquim Moreno, Júlia Albani, Luís Tavares Pereira, Nuno Grande, Pedro Gadanho and Pedro Campos Costa. The debates were moderated by Elisa Noronha [FLUP/CITCEM], Inês Moreira [FBAUP/FCSH-UNL] and Susana Ventura [FAUP/CEAU]. The symposium happened on April 14th, 2016, at Rivoli Theather (Porto). The event was organized by the Masters and Doctoral program in Museum Studies of the Arts Faculty of the University of Porto together with CITCEM - Center for Transdisciplinary Research "Culture, Space and Memory", in partnership with the Fine Arts and Architecture Faculties of the same university. Production: Laurem Crossetti and Filipa Alfaro. |

Following the same idea as the previous project, 365 artists + writers expanded its interests and aim to promote art and literature from Brazil and Portugal. 365 artists
2012
|
365 artistas (365 artists in English) was a project to promote Brazilian contemporary art. During the year of 2012, through daily website updates, I posted works of brazilian visual artists - whom could be internationally known or in the beginning of his/her career. The updates were very diverse, consisting of critical texts, videos, interviews, andwork images. The artist's (or gallery) website was also publicized.
It’s important to say that the material used in this website was not new or made especially for this project; everything was the result of researches done on the web. Text and images were always credited to their respective author. 365 artists was an independent project, without links to any type of public or private institution nor did intended to commercialize the works. www.365artistas.com.br [no longer available] |
